A Sweet Summer Engagement Session in Columbus, Ohio

Couple: Bre & Nate

Date: June 1st, 2025

City: Columbus, Ohio

Locations: Columbus Public Library & Park of Roses

When I heard the news that my friends had gotten engaged, I knew immediately that I wanted to take their engagement photos! Before I moved to Missouri, I lived in Columbus, Ohio, so any excuse to travel back and catch up with people I love (and shoot in some of my favorite spots) is a win-win.

They picked two beautiful and classic Columbus locations: the Columbus Metropolitan Library and Whetstone Park of Roses. The library is a fun architectural spot in the city—bright white stone, tall windows, and a courtyard with trees and winding paths. We started under one of the big trees out front where the light filtered through the branches just right, and then moved indoors to the library's stunning stairwell for a few timeless, romantic shots.

After wrapping up at the library, we headed over to the Park of Roses, which is always a popular destination—especially during the summer when everything’s blooming. Thankfully, we found a quieter corner of the park, tucked away with ivy-covered arches and colorful flower-lined paths. It was the perfect spot to finish off the shoot with soft golden light, lots of laughter, and a little bit of celebrating.

I loved getting to capture their excitement and joy. Whether it’s in a big city park or a quiet hidden courtyard, engagement sessions like this remind me why I love being a couples and engagement photographer—especially in places that feel like home.
