After driving around a little longer than planned, we found ourselves right back where we started, our family’s neighborhood park. Funny how that works sometimes. In the middle of a Midwest December, finding any kind of greenery can feel like a challenge, but tucked into this little corner of Carmel, we found the evergreen trees we’d been searching for all along. Proof that you don’t need a far-off destination to create something beautiful and sometimes the best locations are the ones closest to home.
There’s something especially meaningful about photographing your sister and her fiancé during such a joyful season of their lives. Being able to celebrate them not just as a photographer, but as family and a friend, made this session feel incredibly natural. He mentioned how much he appreciated that I already knew them—because it meant there was no pressure, no awkwardness, just genuine laughter and easy, real moments.
